"The film begins with a very realistic depiction of the Omaha Beach invasion," reveals Kaminski. "It’s very chaotic as soldiers are dying left and right. There’s one scene where a soldier gets his arm blown off and is in shock. He then finds his arm, picks it up and walks away with it. It’s a very graphic and horrifying image." The film’s action was planned by stunt coordinator Simon Crane, who worked closely with special effects coordinator Neil Corbould.
