Standing before the royal palace, Titus’s younger brother, Marcus (Colm Feore) asks an assembly of Romans to consider the general’s achievements while selecting their next emperor. The filmmakers used Mussolini’s E.U.R. building as the palace exterior, and sought to shoot the actors from low angles and other positions that would enhance the architecture’s grandeur.
