Shots of Mulder and Scully fleeing on the icefield were executed on a chilled soundstage in front of greenscreens and were lit to match the late-afternoon second-unit location photography shot in northern Canada by Jan Kiesser, ASC. Says Russell"Jerry Solomon and I created our 'sun' with 40 Maxi-Brutes that we positioned as close together as possible. We used this shower curtain-like diffusion to help blend the shadows together. We also had the ceiling filled with Spacelights to provide an ambient skylight."
