As Truman attempts to sail out of Seahaven, Christof hits him with a synthetic tempest. After the storm subsides, Truman drifts directly into the edge of his universe — a huge sky backing, an enormous fake, the edge of the set that, from his point of view, IS the entire world. Matte World Digital reworked the production footage into the finished shot.
