Savides Earns NY Film Critics Award Harris Savides, ASC has taken the New York Film Critics Circle award for best cinematography for his work on the two Gus Van Sant features Elephant and Gerry. It was his first award from the organization of film reviewers from New York-based publications. Best picture went to Lord of The Rings: Return Of The King, while best director was awarded to Sofia Coppola for her rendering of her own script for Lost In Translation.
